Exeter Chiefs Boss Wary of Harlequins Threat

Rob Baxter, the coach of the Aviva Premiership Rugby Union side the Exeter Chiefs believes that the champions Harlequins FC will come to Sandy Park for their Premiership encounter on Saturday with a swagger in spite of being handed their first defeat of the season at the hands of Saracens FC at home last weekend. The Sarries took the game to The Quins last weekend, suffocating the team out of their attacking prowess and handed Conor O’Shea’s side their first defeat in a 16-18 win.

According to Baxter, his team knows that the champions are the champions for a reason, and they are a brilliant side. Moreover, they have improved from their performances last term and have added a swagger to their play and are extremely confident of winning a match, and the defeat against Saracens FC last weekend doesn’t change anything.

The Exeter Chiefs boss added that they are an extremely attacking side, playing the best rugby in the country by quite some distance and if he hadn’t been involved with The Chiefs, he would probably be sitting at home, rooting for the side. He admitted that the high tempo the side operates in might be difficult to handle, but that doesn’t mean his team will not try to match them step for step.

The Chiefs have an extremely impressive record at home, having lost just once at Sandy Park since February and Baxter has warned that his team will do all it takes to stop The Quins from taking full points from the game. Although the Exeter Chiefs, who were easily the surprise team of last season lost their match to the Leicester Tigers last weekend, Baxter has enough confidence in his players and is looking forward to building a winning run hoping for a repeat of last season’s success.
